Executive Director's Bio

Carroll Gray, 20 year resident of Cornelius, is serving as Executive Director of the LNTC. He is employed under a ‘fee for service’ agreement, which runs through June of 2010. Gray previously was employed as president of the Charlotte Chamber from 1984 through 2005, a period of rapid growth of the Charlotte region.
During his tenure at the Chamber, Gray focused on economic development, public policy, lobbying local, State and Federal government and problem solving. He maintains working relationships with the four Lake Towns boards and management in addition to City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, the Mecklenburg Legislative Delegation, NC Congressional Delegation and the NC Department of Transportation.
Recently, he served on the Institute for Emerging Issues “Financing North Carolina’s Future” committee which is advocating State tax reform to update North Carolina’s antiquated tax code. Gray holds a BA in English/History from the University of South Carolina
